Elders

Pastor Dana E. Wiles, Jr.

Pastor Dana serves as the full-time pastor at Covenant Baptist Church. After graduating from high school, he attended California University of Pennsylvania for two years. During his sophomore year at Cal U, a good friend shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with him. The Lord graciously opened his heart to the gospel, and he has been trusting in the Lord Jesus, following Him, and serving His church ever since. Prior to serving as one of the elders at Covenant, Pastor Dana helped to plant and pastor Redeeming Grace Fellowship in Uniontown for almost six years. In July of 2019, the Lord led the congregations of Redeeming Grace Fellowship and Covenant Baptist Church to join together as one body of believers. Pastor Dana earned a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a Master of Theological Studies with an emphasis on Exegetical Theology from Reformed Baptist Seminary. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from RBS. He resides in Fairchance with his wife Rachel and their daughter Delilah Jane.

Pastor Jesse Alan McGee

Pastor Jesse grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania. His father and grandmother raised him to have a knowledge of the Lord, but he didn’t truly repent of sin and trust in Jesus Christ until he was 19 years old while serving in the US Marine Corps. As Jesse likes to put it, “I went from being a slave of sin to being a slave of Christ.” During a tour in Afghanistan the Lord mercifully spared Jesse’s life after he incurred multiple gunshot wounds. After returning to the US, he married his wife Rebekah. He then went on to earn an undergraduate degree from Waynesburg University. As he served in the church, he began aspiring to become a pastor as he felt burdened to shepherd the flock of God and proclaim God’s Word. As part of his preparation for ministry, Jesse earned a Master of Theological Studies with an emphasis on Pastoral Theology from Reformed Baptist Seminary. He was installed as an elder at Covenant in December 2023. Pastor Jesse serves at Covenant in a variety of ways, including preaching, teaching Bible education classes, and leading Community Group. The Lord has blessed him and Rebekah with four beautiful children.

Pastor Mark Edwards

Pastor Mark grew up in a Christian home and regularly attended church with his family. When Mark was 13 years old God revealed his Son to him, as well as his need for forgiveness. Mark confessed his sin before the Lord, and he received new life in Christ by grace through faith. After finishing high school, Mark attended Messiah College and graduated with a degree in Bible. He then began working with Youth for Christ, during which time he met and married his wonderful wife, Karen. In the Lord’s providence, Pastor Mark left YFC and began working as a caseworker at the Department of Public Welfare. It was there that he met Pastor Dennis and subsequently began attending the church that would become Covenant Baptist Church of Uniontown. After serving at Covenant for several years in a variety of different ways, the congregation called Mark to serve as their full-time pastor in 2009. He served Covenant as their full-time pastor until the end of 2023. Pastor Mark is constantly amazed at the grace God shows to Covenant, both individually and corporately, and his burning desire is to see Jesus high and lifted up in the church and to see the community transformed by the power of the gospel. Mark and Karen live and minister in Uniontown. They have four adult children, all of whom are married, and several grandchildren that they love dearly.

Pastor Dennis Cox

Pastor Dennis grew up in Elco, PA, graduated from California High School, and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from California University of Pennsylvania. He went on to work for the Department of Public Welfare in Uniontown, PA, the agency from which he retired after many years of service. In 1973 he was reading through chapter three of the apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans when the scales fell from his eyes and heart and he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. In that moment, as he experienced God’s sovereign grace, the Spirit of God made Christ irresistible and he knew his sins were forgiven. Pastor Dennis grew up attending a United Methodist church in Roscoe, PA, and after coming to faith in Christ, he obtained a Certified Lay Minister license and preached God’s word in a number of different Methodist churches in the area. In 1974 he and his wife Carol were led of the Lord to begin meeting with three other couples to study the Bible together. The Bible study group which began with four couples eventually became the congregation now known as Covenant Baptist Church in 1976. Pastor Dennis was installed as an elder at Covenant Baptist Church in 1980, and he continues to teach God’s word and shepherd the flock of God at Covenant to this day. He was also active in prison ministry at the Fayette County Prison from 1979 through 2010. He earnestly longs for each individual member of Christ’s body at Covenant to grow daily in love for Christ and love for one another so that they can take that overflowing love – love from Christ and love for Christ – to a lost and perishing world through the proclamation of the gospel. Dennis and Carol live in Uniontown. They have two adult sons, both of whom are married, and four wonderful grandchildren.
